Moses

So basically my idea for this blog is simply to share with you things that are going on in my life...whether that's talking about how God's been teaching me something, sharing my favorite song for the week, or posting an interesting article...All of these are different joys in my life. Today I want to share with you a HUGE joy in my life...

This is Moses, my 120lb baby.

Look at that face!!!!!

He LOVES car rides. I was cleaning the car and went to put something away...when I came back, this is what I saw...WHAT a cutie?!?!

I'm going to start teaching him how to use skype...I'll miss him!!!!

I'll try for a longer post next time, but I'm still learning the world of blogging...

leçon un (lesson one)

So, as I'm attempting to learn some french through Rosetta Stone and some CD's my mom and I got a few summers ago when we went to Paris, I've come across so many words and phrases that we use here in America that are French! I thought it would be fun to share these with you...you know more french than you think!!

à la carte "on the menu"

à la mode "in fashion, style" (In English, this means "with ice cream" - apparently someone decided that having ice cream on pie was the fashionable way to eat it)

avant-garde
"before guard" (Innovative, especially in the arts)

bon appétit
"good appetite"

brunette "small, dark-haired female"

chic "stylish"

critique
"critical, judgment"

cuisine "kitchen, food style"

cul-de-sac
"bottom (butt) of the bag"

déjà vu
"already seen"

encore "again"

faux pas
"false step, trip"

fiancé, fiancée "engaged person, betrothed"

genre "type"

mardi gras "fat Tuesday"

matinée "morning"

papier mâché "mashed paper"

petite
"small, short"

rendez-vous
"go to"

RSVP "respond please"

souvenir
"memory, keepsake"

Voilà ! "There it is!"

...and many more

I can only hope to speak as well as this petite fille

Bonjour!

First post...this is kinda scary! I guess you could say this blog will be the first "firsts" of many for me this year!

The reason I decided to start this blog is because I will be moving to Paris, France in August for a year with Campus Crusade for Christ. Ever since I made the decision to do this, my mind has been running a mile a minute with ideas, questions, fears, and hopes...I can only imagine what it will feel like when I'm actually there! So I decided that I'm going to need some kind of outlet for all these thoughts or my mind might explode! But ultimately I wanted a way to keep track of all the neat things that I'm learning and seeing and tasting (can't wait for this part!) and hearing...but also to be able to share them with others.

Some posts may be long and detailed, some will just be a neat picture or quote or song.

My hope for me --and you-- is to live life to the fullest. Take note of the many joys ((even though they may be painful)) of life that God gives us.
